Size: 8-16 mm.
Host plant: Juniperus, Cupressus, Thuja, Callitrix, Tetraclinis.
Life cycle: 2 years. Adults in June-August.
Distribution:
SW Europe and North Africa (I. t. tomentosum), East Mediterranean (ssp. atticum Ganglbauer, 1881).
New record for Libya: Cyrenaica.

Only one in bad shape (repaired with photo-processing software on the picture) obtained from Cupressus sempervirens wood collected in Wadi Bel Gadir, Shahat.
