Distribution: Tripolitania and Cyrenaica.

Tripolitania: Lepcis Magna (Al Khums), 05/10/2001; Tarhunah, 29/09/2001; north of Bani Whalid, 01/11/2002; Al Aziziyah, 01/11/2002.
Blaps nitens substriata is the commonest Blaps in Tripolitania in the Jaffarah Plain and Jabal Nefusah, often found in groups under the stones or active at the end of the day and in the night in spring. Common all year round.
