Cited from Cyrenaica (Zavaterri, 1934; Koch, 1937 &

Fiori, 1957) and Fazzan (Peyerhimhoff, 1948; Pierre, 1963)
but never seen there, where it seems to be replaced by
P. deresa and P. grandis respectively.
P. grandis is also a vicariant in the dry areas of the
Hamada al Hamra.
Very common in sandy habitats, even cultivated in Jaffarah
Plain and Jabal Nefusah (Tripolitania).
