Steraspis speciosa
Size: 42-50 mm
Host plant: Acacia nilotica and tortilis.
Life cycle: 2 years and more, adults from January to April and/or August-December depending on location (Mateu, 1972).
Distribution: Saharan Algeria and Morocco, Fazzan, Egypt, Arabia and tropical Africa to Mozambic.

Wadi Imrawen (Messak Sattafet), 08/04/2003 and 14/10/ 2001, Wadi I-n-Lalan (Tihemboka), 09/02/2004; Wadi I-n-Aghalin (north of Ghat), 11/02/2204; observed in Wadi Meseknan (Messak).
Damages to Acacia tortilis and nilotica are commonly observed in Messak and Tassili: Not collected, and no damages seen in the east side of the Akakus.
