Host plant: Acacia tortilis.
Life cycle: 6 months-2 years. Adults from April
to December.
Distribution: Chad,
Niger (Air), southern Algeria, southern Morocco to Mauritania,
Senegal, Sudan, Ethiopia, Uganda.
New record for Libya: Tripolitania and Fezzan.
All
obtained ex. larva from Acacia tortilis.
Fezzan: 12/06/2003, Tehi-n-Tamellelt, Messak Settafet.
Tripolitania (2 locations in Hamada al Hamra): Mizdah, 21/08/2002;
As Sdadah, 107 specimens in 2003-2004 from 03/05 to 01/12 in two
generations: May-June and August-November (see
graph). The second generation came from a couple which laid
eggs in October on a fresh-cut branch of Acacia karoo.
This species yields an abundant offspring.
