Cyrenaica: The flowing wadis of the Jabal al Ackdar

The only permanent river in Libya is Wadi Darnah. Some other flowing creeks are Wadi Bel Gadim (Shahat, Cyrene) and a small stream above Ra's al Hilal.

Some beetles collected there:

Cerambycidae: Trichoferus griseus (Fabricius, 1792); Icosium tomentosum tomentosum Lucas, 1854 ex larva Cupressus sempervirens wood collected along wadi Bel Gadim; Penichroa fasciata (Stephens, 1831); Nathrius brevipennis (Mulsant, 1839); Deroplia troberti (Mulsant, 1843), not found but hatching holes have been observed in Nerium oleander.; hatching holes of Prinobius myardi Mulsant, 1842 are found in the large trees.

Buprestidae: Anthaxia (s. str.) hypomelaena (Illiger, 1803).

Scarabaoidea: Chironitis irroratus (Rossi, 1790); Netocia trojana (Gory & Percheron, 1833); Netocia cuprea ignicollis Gory & Percheron, 1883...

Carabidae: Agonum marginatum Linnaeus, 1758; Stenolophus teutonus Schrank, 1781...

Meloidae: several species of Mylabris.

Wadi Bel Gadim at Mansurah. This creek runs along the antique city of Cyrene. It is badly polluted by the sewers of Shahat and stinks.
